Congressman Chip Pickering is preparing to reintroduce the CARE bill in the House
next week. Introduction of the CARE bill has been extended. The new deadline for
original cosponsors to sign on is 5:00 PM Wednesday, March 16.
The original "Dear Colleague" letter was sent out last Monday, March 7. At the deadline
Thursday evening we only had 5 congressmen signed on. Congressmen Pickering would
like to get more original cosponsors on board prior to introduction of the bill
thereforth the reason for the extension.
We need to get all former cosponsors signed on as original co sponsors when the
CARE bill is introduced. If your congressman was a co sponsor in the last congress
please contact his office now and ask them to contact Mary Mills Ritchie in Congressman
Pickering's office at x55031 to sign on.
Please ask others not receiving this email to contact their congressman also. If
you have a school program in their district please allow your students time Mon
or Tues to send emails or make calls. These folks need to hear from constituents
and when they hear from many on the same issue they will take notice.
Their staff has to be pushed hard in order to take notice and take it to their boss.
If we could make direct contact with the congressmen I don't think there would be
a problem but when we have to go through staff we have to convince them this issue
is important enough to take to their boss now.
