My hometown is Callaway, NE. I received my radiography education at Southeast Community
College. Prior to my current position as a Clinical Instructor with Southeast Community
College, I worked as a CT and Angiography Technologist at BryanLGH East Medical
Center in Lincoln.
I became a radiographer due to a fascination I have about helping others from a
medical standpoint. I entertained the idea of pursuing other medical pathways, but
in the end realized the opportunities in the radiology profession are virtually
endless! I always make it a point to tell my students that the options they have
with their radiography degree are limitless.
My main goal in the NSRT is to promote involvement and membership from all directions.
It is important to me that this organization continues to flourish, and that will
best be achieved by promoting involvement from the young & seasoned alike. As
an elected member of the board of directors, I feel that I have a responsibility
to ensure that the needs of society members are met. If you have any questions or
concerns that would like me to address, please feel free to contact me.

I am currently the Radiology Supervisor at Cherry County Hospital in Valentine.
I work as a CT and mammography technologist as well as in general radiography. I
have been here for 11 years. I received my radiography education at Mary Lanning
Memorial Hospital and recently received my bachelor’s degree through UNK.
I live in Valentine with my husband Matt and our four children, Brandon (16), Abbie
(9), Gavin (6) and our recent addition Gage (4 months).
I became involved in the NSRT because I feel it is important to stay connected to
other technologists around the state. I enjoy being part of the NSRT and look forward
to serving the needs of our society.

I first got involved in the NSRT when I was asked to be a student representative
for SCC-Lincoln. After attending board meetings and Annual Conference, I knew that
I wanted to continue on with the organization by being part of the board. Seeing
that I got my start with the NSRT by being asked as a student, I also hope to mentor
students and to get them more involved with the organization.
I am currently an employee of St Elizabeth’s Diagnostic Radiology department in
Lincoln, Nebraska and live in Lincoln with my dog Frannie. I have also recently
entered into a new endeavor by becoming an adjunct clinical instructor for the SCC-Lincoln
Radiology Program. From the moment I walked into the radiology department, when
I was a junior in high school, I knew that diagnostic radiology was the career path
for me. I look forward to furthering my education and obtaining my BA in Radiology
Science next spring. I am also excited to spread my enthusiasm to new technologists
entering the field.

I received my Radiography Education from The Mary Lanning School of Radiologic Technology.
When I graduated I began working for St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island,
NE. I became certified in cardiovascular interventional radiography while working
there.
Having this experience gave me the opportunity to teach a Special Procedures course
at the same school that I graduated from. After 5 years, I became a full time clinical
and didactic instructor. I haven’t looked back since! I love teaching and I am still
able to work with patients too. I have recently obtained my Masters Degree in Radiation
Sciences with a focus on Education.
I first became involved with the NSRT as a student participating in Quiz Bowl. Two
years after graduating I helped co-chair a conference in Grand Island. I have since
co-chaired two more conferences and was elected as Secretary-Treasurer at this year’s
conference. I am looking forward to the next year as I learn a new role with the
NSRT.

I am the Clinical Coordinator for the Alegent Health School of Radiologic Technology.
I have been with Alegent for many years in various positions: Lead Tech, Mammographer,
Angios, and Instructor. I enjoy all aspects of radiology, but teaching allows me
to gain and share knowledge and I guess that is what I like most.
I have been married to my husband Craig for 30 years. We have 2 children that are
busy pursuing their lives, but still in the Omaha area. We enjoy spending time with
family and friends and hopefully some travel in the future!
I have great respect for the NSRT board and their dedication. I hope I can contribute
to the society I have enjoyed all these years. As Nominations chairperson, I would
like to encourage anyone who is thinking of running for an office, now is the time
to become involved!
